The average blind date lasts 7 minutes, so your aim is to beat that! Think of some questions before you go that will allow him to open up to you. Try to make these open questions, not yes or no answers. Some examples are:
- What do you like to do in your spare time? (explores his interests and hobbies - observes how much you have in common)
- Do you have any current aspirations or goals?
- Have you seen any good movies lately?
Ask him about his past and laugh about how you guys got together on this blind date (who hooked you up etc) Try not to be nervous, just keep that conversation flowing so it doesn't get awkward and silent.

Go to some kind of a show. A comedy club is excellent for this, loosens you two up, a drink, some laughs, and a great evening to be had by all....
