I haven鈥檛 been in the dating scene because I鈥檝e been willingly focusing all my attention on my daughter, ever since her mother and my ex fianc茅 just abandoned I and her when she was five months. Well, my daughter Ember who is my world is now two, her birthday was in February. Is it too soon for me to date?





I鈥檓 also a man and haven鈥檛 had sexual relations since her mother because I like to be in love before I make love, no one night stands or hook ups. I鈥檝e been very heartbroken and think it鈥檚 time I move on, because her mother obviously wasn鈥檛 the one for me, I need to keep looking. You'll have no trouble finding someone, I have no doubt. It's not too soon, but I wouldn't introduce the girlfriend to your daughter until you're pretty serious about her so that no hard feelings happen. Or, if you do, make sure to introduce her as a friend.. not that a 2 year old is really going to know.. but yeah.

You have a life--live it too! No, it isn't too soon to start dating again. Just make sure you have reliable child care for Ember while you are out.





A 2-year old could be confused with a woman in your life, and be very possessive. Don't be bringing in a different woman every week or two. It might be best to keep your social life away from home for at least the first two or three dates.

I think it's time you begin dating again, as you clearly seem to be putting your daughter first, and that's the most important thing.





One thing though, don't introduce anyone into your daughter's life until you are relatively sure they are going to be a permanent fixture there. The last thing your daughter needs after having two previous women walk out on her, is for it to happen again. I know it may be hard to be sure about the right time, but as long as you feel the woman is right and you will be with her for a long time, then your daughter should meet her.
